Prior to the laser hair removal treatment, we require clients to make a few preparations. Six weeks prior the procedure, make sure not to wax, tweeze, pluck, or apply any depilatory on the areas you wish to be treated. Removing the hair from the follicles will make it difficult for the lasers to identify those follicles that they will be targeting. Avoid unnecessary UV exposure and the use of retinol-laden creams on areas to be treated.
You should not be undergoing any laser hair removal treatment services if you have taken Accutane in the last six months as the medication makes your skin extra-sensitive, if you are breastfeeding or pregnant, and if the areas to be treated have had a history of contracting herpes simplex virus or have tattoos on them.
You must apply cold soothing gel on the redness on the treated areas. You should also avoid using exfoliants on those areas for at least a week. Keep the treated area clean, and do not use hot water when cleaning them. Antiperspirants must be avoided for at least one day after an underarm hair removal. SPF 30 or higher sunscreen must be used on exposed treated areas for at least the next six weeks.
